Correctionville is a city located in Woodbury County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 851.

Correctionville Geography:

Correctionville is located at 42°28'36" North, 95°47'5" West (42.476697, -95.784746). The town is situated adjacent to the Little Sioux River.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 km2 (0.6 mi2). 1.5 km2 (0.6 mi2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Correctionville Demographics:

As of the census of 2000, there are 851 people, 343 households, and 230 families residing in the city. The population density is 576.4/km2 (1,484.5/mi2). There are 392 housing units at an average density of 265.5/km2 (683.8/mi2). The racial makeup of the city is 97.65% White, 0.00% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.65% from other races, and 0.35% from two or more races. 3.88% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 343 households out of which 28.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% are married couples living together, 9.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% are non-families. 30.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 2.95.
